Laser Safety Governance, Leadership & Delivery Support
Project Consult provides independent laser safety governance, leadership, and hands on delivery support for workplaces using Class 3B and Class 4 laser devices. This service is led by an NZ Laser Training Institute trained Industrial Sector Laser Safety Officer, with workplace laser safety training covering safe use of Class 3B and Class 4 devices and key international and national laser safety standards.
We help PCBUs (duty holders) and organisations plan, manage, and embed robust laser safety arrangements – from upfront risk assessment and documentation through to supervised operation, onsite project delivery involving laser devices, and continuous improvement of controls. Our work supports practical compliance with relevant laser safety standards and New Zealand workplace health and safety requirements, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and applicable regulations made under HASWA.
We work alongside clients, managers, and operational teams to review laser related risks, clarify responsibilities, and design and implement practical control measures for higher risk laser activities. Depending on the organisation’s needs, this can include leading multidisciplinary sessions on laser risk, providing direct project management and supervised operation of laser devices within agreed parameters, supporting the establishment of internal laser safety roles and responsibilities, and coordinating implementation of agreed safety improvements.
